National Research Council's libraries of humanities institutes share problems and difficulties because of the eccentricity of their position within the largest Italian research institution. The twodays workshop held on 29th and 30th May 2012 at the Central Library of the National Research Council have voiced this uneasiness and highlighted the need for closer collaboration. The case of (ILIESI) the Institute for European Intellectual Lexicon and History of Ideas's library and its catalog explains these issues.
